Les Festes de Sant Bartomeu, Sóller in August

Every 24 August Sóller celebrates its patron saint and the village changes pace for a good week. It is the best way to see the valley at its most local, away from the tourist circuit.

A week out on the street

The programme combines religious services with concerts in the square, street parades, correfocs and activities for children. The town band and the gegants make their way through the old town and the terraces stay full well into the night.

How to take it in

The trick is to go with it: head down to the square without a plan, eat late and follow the crowd. The restaurants are working flat out, so booking a table in advance helps.

If you are travelling on those dates, book your room well ahead: along with Sa Fira i Es Firó in May, it is the busiest week of the year across the whole valley.
